From their studios in London and Edinburgh JTP undertake placemaking projects at every scale, from cities and towns, to neighbourhoods, streets and the design of individual buildings; creating new places and breathing life into old ones. JTP approach all their projects through a process of understanding, engaging and creating, which together they call ‘Collaborative Placemaking.’ Collaborative technology greatly enhances these activities.

The Brief

JTP were moving offices and needed to install high-end technology to match the ambitious headquarter relocation. The project had to unify communications using latest technologies, maximise efficiency in the meeting spaces with open collaboration and content sharing for teams anywhere.

The Solution

Following an initial discussion and a Barco ClickShare demo, Carillion undertook a site review of their existing office space and newly acquired locations including a listed building in London’s docklands. Carillion installed a mix of Large format Displays, Barco Clickshare wireless presentation, Skype for Business web conferencing integration and Crestron system management to ensure the highest levels of communication could be achieved through the technology. Key installations included:

  • Wall-mounted large format displays
  • Presentation audio from speakers
  • Web conferencing VIa Logitech Mic
  • Web conferencing USB Mic and PTZ Camera
  • Wall mounted array microphones
  • Control via intuitive button wall keypad
  • Wall-mounted array microphones
  • Control via an intuitive wall keypad

The Outcome

As part of the successful completion of the spaces, Carillion provided training sessions at the new offices. This has seen the meeting rooms used extensively. The initial opening was a success with the HUB spaced filled to capacity.
